Connie M'Gadzah

Male, African / Shona. Actor, clear, young.

Born in Zimbabwe, Connie trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School before going on to study for a B.A. (Hons) Literature, Art History and Culture.

Connie speaks Shona, a language of Zimbabwe, and specialises in detailed African accents. He has played characters from Kenya, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia through to Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, South Africa and, of course, Zimbabwe itself. He also focuses on teenage voices, and has played Ugandan and Zimbabwean teenagers for BBC Radio.

Connie has many BBC Radio credits to his name, and played the role of Lucas Madikane, husband to the often troublesome Kate (Aldridge) in the world’s longest running serial drama – BBC Radio 4’s The Archers.

TV credits include: The Headteacher in Down To Earth (Kenyan), the Narrator in Tears From My Soul (Mozambique) and multiple voices in a number of episodes of Rose and Maloney (RP).

Feature film voice-over credits include: Guard in Sahara (West African), Max in Demon Hunter (RP) and multiple voices in Renaissance (West African).

Connie has a clear and precise voice with a bass/baritone range and is capable of both authoritative narration and warm reads. He has worked on corporate productions and educational tapes.
