Chris Jarvis

Male, Actor, VO and animation supremo!

Chris Jarvis has been a familiar face on Children’s BBC television since 1993 when he joined ‘The Broom Cupboard’. His back catalogue of TV shows includes the storytelling show ‘Step Inside’, teen magazine ‘Fully Booked’, sketch show ‘The Friday Zone’, ‘Short Change’, ‘Look Sharp’, ‘Playdays’, ‘Jungle Run’, ‘Maths Mansion’ and ‘Mini Stargazers’.  In character, he played the Anorak and starred in ‘Wood Lane TV’ alongside Josie d’Arby for 187 episodes.  Chris has guest starred in many shows including ‘Justin’s House’, ‘Chucklevision’ and ‘The Demon Headmaster’.

In 2002 he launched the BBC’s pre-school channel CBeebies with Pui Fan Lee and since 2009 they have starred in ‘Show Me Show Me’; a modern day ‘Play School’ with stories, songs, comedy sketches and imaginative play.

Out of vision, he has provided voices for ITV’s ‘Dream Street’ playing Hot Rodney (M) as well as the gossipy traffic lights Amber and Scarlet (F).  In ‘Underground Ernie’ for CBeebies, he played Hammersmith (M) and Circle (F).  He also voiced later animations of ‘Henry’s Cat’ for Blue Banana and the animated characters for ‘Planet Cook’ for CBBC.

On stage Chris is a pantomime regular with 20 big professional shows under his belt at such prestigious venues as Bromley, Swansea, Bournemouth and, for the second time, Richmond playing alongside Jerry Hall this coming Christmas. .   He has also written and starred in many pantos for BBC TV.
